COMPETITIONS

Friendly competitions are a great way to share your photos, and receive constructive critiques to improve your photographic skills. There are 4 divisions of competition and members may enter all divisions or the ones that interest them.

The 4 divisions include:

- 35mm Color Slides

- 35mm Nature Slides

- Prints: Black & White and Color

- Digital Images

Color Slides

Color slide division includes 35mm color slides that are photos of subjects that include people or show the hand-of-man, such as buildings, cars, domestic animals such as pets or farm animals, and cultivated plants, such as tulips, or wheat.

Nature Slides

Nature slide division includes 35mm color slides that are photos of all natural subjects only, such as wild animals like deer, birds, insects or squirrels, wild plants such as trees, goldenrod, or mushrooms, and scenery. The hand-of-man is not allowed.

Prints

Prints are separated into 2 categories:

1. Black & White

2. Color

Black & White prints compete against other Black & White prints. Color prints compete against other color prints. All prints must be mounted on mat board, no glass or frames.

Digital Images

Digital images can be of any subject, using any digital adjustments in the computer. B&W or Color. Files must be jpeg format and vertical & horizontal dimensions can not exceed 768 pixels, although they may be smaller.
